MBA 학생이 실험실 규정 같은 건 몰라도 되자나,, 갈 일도 없는데
(친구따라 연구실 문앞까지는 가봤구나 ㅋ)

AT&T and 7 RBOCs

Who are the Regional Bell Operating Companies (RBOCs)?

There were originally 7 RBOCs.  Today there are only 3:

Qwest - created by the merger of US West and Qwest Communications International, Inc.
at&t - created by the merger of SBC, Ameritech, and Pacific Telesis, AT&T, and Bell South..
Verizon - created by the merger of Bell Atlantic, Nynex, and GTE.


The original 7 RBOCs were formed from the 1984 breakup of AT&T.  AT&T originally consisted of 22 Bell Operating Companies (BOCs).  The 1984 Divestiture merged the 22 BOCs into 7 RBOCs:

Ameritech
 - Illinois Bell Telephone Company
 - Indiana Bell Telephone Company
 - Michigan Bell Telephone Company
 - Ohio Bell Telephone Company
 - Wisconsin Bell Telephone Company

Bell Atlantic
 - Bell Telephone Company of Pennsylvania
 - Chesapeake and Potomac State Telephone Company of Virginia
 - Diamond State Telephone Company
 - New Jersey Bell Telephone Company
 - Potomac State Telephone Company of Maryland
 - Potomac State Telephone Company of Washington, D.C.
 - Potomac State Telephone Company of West Virginia

Bell South
 - South Central Bell Telephone Company
 - Southern Bell Telephone Company

Nynex
 - New England Telephone Company
 - New York Telephone Company

Pacific Telesis
 - Nevada Bell Telephone Company
 - Pacific Bell Telephone Company

Southwestern Bell Communications (SBC Communications)

지난 2009년 9월 1일 화요일에 발표된 미래기획위원회의 "IT Korea 5대 미래전략"을 요약하고 critical comment 다는게 숙제다.

근데,,, 애초에 이거 처음 봤을 때 마음에 안들었던 탓일까?

쓰다보니까 욕만 왕창 한 것 같아 ㅋㅋㅋ

그나마 영어로 썼으니까 이 정도지 한글로 썼다면 정말 쓰다가 쌍욕도 나왔지 싶다 -_-;;;


여튼, 숙제 하나 마쳤어~ ㅎ

    - very impressive
    - 같은 아티클로 석사과정, 박사과정, MBA까지 여러번 수업했는데 그간 한거 통틀어서 제일 잘했다고~!!

1. Mac Address란?
In computer networking, a Media Access Control address (MAC address), Ethernet Hardware Address (EHA), hardware address, adapter address or physical address is a unique identifier assigned to most network adapters or network interface cards (NICs) by the manufacturer for identification. If assigned by the manufacturer, a MAC address usually encodes the manufacturer's registered identification number.     <= 위키피디아 영문판
즉, 네트워크 장치가 가지고 있는 고유의 주소, 집마다 가지고 있는 집주소

참고로, 인터넷은 TCP/IP를 사용하고 IP 주소를 Mac 주소로 바꾸는 과정이 필요한데 이 과정은 ARP(Address Resolution Protocol)이라고 함



2. MAC Address 확인법

IP 확인할 때처럼 ipconfig를 입력하고 옵션으로 /all 을 넣어주면 된다.

Physical Address : 00-22-64-78-38-B5 이게 Mac Address!

16진수로 표기되는 48bit의 값

제조사가 IEEE를 통해 Mac Address를 일정 범위 만큼 받고, 네트워크 장비에 적용하였을 경우, 앞 쪽 절반 (00-22-64)는 제조자를 나타내는 OUI(Organization Unique Identifier), 나머지 절반(78-38-B5)는 제조사가 장비에 분배하는 Host Identifier



3. Mac Address 부여 받기 (출처 : http://kldp.org/node/42120)
1) OUI
- Organizationally Unique Identifier
- 3byte의 VenderID를 부여받으면 나머지는 임의지정가능 (2^24 = 16,777,216개)
- 가격 $1,650 (US) - 공개등록기준
2) IAB
- Individual Address Block
- 임의영역 4,096개를 받음
- 가격 $550 (US)
